    HISTORY OF DAVID THOMSON LTD OF EDINBURGH

    In 1881, Joseph Baker & Sons were agents for some of the peel-cutters and mixing and kneading 500vip软件 of the Edinburgh firm of David Thomson. The Thomson company had been started in 1870 with 500vip软件 for cutting up peel for cakes and confectionery. Dough mixers and dividers were made later and he designed the first drawplate oven for Scotch bread – previously always baked in corner-fired ovens with an arched brick roof and a slate sole. The company took over William Cook & Sons, makers of circulating tube ovens with a basket furnace and coke-fired hotplates for baking cakes and bannocks. After WW1, the company ran into some financial troubles and was bought by Joseph Baker Sons & Perkins. The personnel and assets were absorbed into the company and David Thomson Ltd was liquidated in 1932.
